I don’t think anyone gets why Facebook has such a high valuation, so I’ll break it down. Facebook has been slow playing it and hasn’t even scratched at monetizing the data that they have. Facebook’s strategy is to get as many users and as much data on those users as they can while maintaing its user base and while building a trusted brad. Both Google and Bing have admitted that Facebook “Likes” do affect SEO. Surely a Facebook Fan Page with a great deal of fans will rank higher then Facebook Fan Pages that have a only a few, but fans alone aren’t going to get you a strong Facebook Fan Page rank.
